Floods Pose Risk To Car Insurance Holders

With the wet weather continuing across the UK, young driver insurance holders should ensure that they keep their eyes on the road to prevent mishaps whilst driving.
This advice comes following an incident where a woman in Hampshire was trapped in her car whilst driving through flooded conditions.
According to the report she drove her car straight into the flooded area and was trapped for almost half an hour before being rescued by fire fighters.
Commenting on behalf of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, Ian Wadmore stated:
"This is the fourth rescue of this kind that Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service has made in two days. Vehicles can float away in just two feet of water. If your vehicle stalls, leave it immediately if safe to do so and seek higher ground."
Mr Wadmore added that drivers should avoid travelling in heavy rain storms unless absolutely necessary. He went on to say: "If in doubt, do not enter the water - either in a vehicle or on foot."
