Rural Areas Enjoy High Test Pass Rates
August 22, 2012

Rural areas of the UK are believed to be the best place to learn to drive thanks to the high driving test pass rates, according to a report by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).
The Scottish Highlands, parts of Cubmria and Grantham in Linconshire are said to have the highest pass rates in the UK, much to the delight of learner driver insurance holders in the areas.
Commenting on the findings of the report, Neil Greig, Director of Policy and Research at the Institute of Advanced Motorists said:
“In rural areas, the need to pass a driving test is paramount. Candidates are going to make sure they are well prepared. There may be fewer hazards such as roundabouts in some rural areas, but there are other risks, such as sheep.”
In spite of this the AA Driving School have warned learner drivers that "there is no long-term benefit in only being able to drive on a certain type of road."
They added that they would not recommend learners to book their tests in remote parts on the off-chance they could find it easier to pass there.
